Pappu Kanwar belongs to the Barmer district. Her life has been full of challenges as she is differently-able. She dreamt of uplifting her poor brethren and wanted to help them somehow to proceed further in their lives.
Soon enough, she realised that the best way to help people like her was by helping herself. She started with activities that would help others avail opportunities such as making a differently-abled pass, pension pass, helping women learn tailoring skills. She has been successful in forming a self-help group of differently-abled persons.
Owing to her passion to work with people, she was selected for the role of Digital Sarthak. Under the programme; a smartphone, a multi-function printer and internet connectivity was provided to her. Using this asset support, she is providing training to 100 women entrepreneurs from her region and providing digital services to her community. This work has helped her to support a respectable source of livelihood.
Along with providing training to the women entrepreneurs, she now tries her best to support the needy by helping them with digital and entitlement services from the Digital Sarthak Centre. These include online form filling, electricity and water bills, photocopying and printing and such others at the Digital Sarthak centre.
The Digital Sarthak programme has helped her work towards her purpose of reaching out to people around her who need support. She feels her life has seen a positive change since she learnt and started making use of digital technology. Right now, she is proud of herself and wants to see a similar positive impact happening among the people with disability and women from her community.
